REFINERY MONITORING

Request file:   n-Paraffin.xlsm

It is possible to develop a trend in the n-paraffin coming through to blending in the crude unit straight run components. This varies with the crude slate and can be measured directly with sampling and a GC apparatus. Knowing the cloud point and distillation of the stream, this can also be estimated using our n-Paraffin.xlsm routine and having developed a history, the different crudes can be assigned factors. Knowing the future crude slate, an estimate can then be made ahead of blending. This information can be valuable to help avoid moving into a peroid of difficulty with the CFPP specification.

Example refinery charts trending the n-paraffins coming through from the crudes vs the additive demand;

n-Paraffin trend in the main CDU diesel products estimated from the cloud and distillation of the stream. Trend calculated using the n-paraffin.xlsm routine.

n-Paraffin trend predicted from the crude slate, ratio of crudes and their known diesel fraction n-paraffin contents
