n-PARAFFIN CONTENT OF DIESEL FRACTIONS FROM CRUDE FEEDS

Request file:   Crudes.xls

The n-paraffin content of the different crude oil feeds imported to N Europe vary significantly. This level influences the cloud points and the dosage levels of additive required to achieve the CFPP specifications. The   Crudes.xls  file provides a comparative list for a standard fraction including the density, cloud point and n-paraffin content.

The list can be used to blend crude sources to achieve acceptable n-paraffin contents in the diesel batches. The data can be used in the Additives.xlsm cold flow model to assist prediction of additive dosages.

The n-paraffin contents have been calculated from the standard assay data and relationship between the cloud point and distillation range of the standard fractions. The n-paraffin contents of diesels can be measured directly by integration of Gas Chromatograms.. Feeds from the same Crude source have been found to vary but the table provides a useful source of data to interpret the Cold Flow character of diesels.
